My first book is called Grandpa Stories and is a memoir of sorts. I wrote it to capture some of the lessons I had learned in my life for my grandchildren and their children. I have begun work on my second novel, Artifacts that I hope to finish writing by the end of 2013. There is an excerpt of Artifacts in the last pages of Grandpa Stories.
Artifacts Update - 9/8/2013
In the last pages of Grandpa Stories, I introduced a new novel that I was working on, Artifacts. Artifacts is a complicated story about an ancient love affair between a boy and his VW microbus viewed from the distant future. Yeah, complicated! Anyway, after an ambitious start, a faltering middle and a completely fizzled, “Look over there! at colored pencils, watercolors, photography, poetry, scotch, stogies and anything else that can distract you from the work!”, end, I am happy to report that my wide body butt is back in the saddle again, so to speak. Using the new writers workshop as the catalyst or inspiration or irritant, I am once again quivering at the edge of work on the book. Keep your fingers crossed but try not to annoy anyone!
My Mom's Book:
My mom wrote a book with her long time collaborator from the days back at the University of Miami, Dr. Kenneth Lampe. This was a work of non-fiction on poinsous plants published after Mom and Ken had moved on to the AMA from the UofM. It was quite will respected as a comprehenive field guide.
